Joel Ellis is a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) and a graduate of Campbellsville University with a Master’s in Social Work. Trained in both EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Joel specializes in helping individuals process trauma, overcome emotional barriers, and move toward lasting change.
With experience working with adolescents, adults, and families, Joel has supported clients through anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, crisis situations, and difficult life transitions. His therapeutic style blends evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), EMDR, ART, strengths-based interventions, and client-centered care.
Joel is known for his honest, direct, and compassionate approach to therapy. He believes meaningful growth begins with clarity-understanding what is helping, what is hurting, and what needs to change. While he values truth and accountability, he also understands the importance of grace, empathy, and creating a safe environment where clients feel heard and supported. His goal is not simply to help clients cope, but to empower them with practical tools, deeper self-awareness, and renewed hope for the future.
Originally from Northwest Arkansas, Joel has also lived in Florida, Minnesota, and Missouri before returning home to Arkansas in 2010. Outside the therapy office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, biking, hiking, swimming, playing drums, and learning new things. Whether cheering at his children’s baseball games, hosting family game nights, or spending time with friends, Joel values connection, growth, and community in every area of life.
“We change our behavior when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing. Consequences give us the pain that motivates us to change.”
