Melissa believes therapy should feel safe, approachable, and hopeful. Her goal is to create a space where clients can come as they are and begin experiencing healing, growth, and meaningful change. No matter what someone is facing, Melissa believes it is possible to find greater freedom, clarity, and restoration.
Melissa takes a holistic approach to counseling, recognizing that healing involves the whole person: mind, body, emotions, relationships, and the environments that shape daily life. Life does not always unfold the way people expect. While many hope growth will be quick, easy, and within their control, meaningful change usually takes time, patience, and care, much like tending a garden.
Melissa believes that “the more we hide, the less we heal.” In therapy, she gently helps clients explore parts of life that may be difficult to face, because honest reflection and awareness often mark the beginning of lasting change. As Viktor Frankl wrote, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
Each person is shaped by the stories they believe, the meaning they make from their experiences, and the patterns they live out each day. In counseling, Melissa works with clients to better understand these influences, develop healthier patterns, increase self-awareness, and move toward a more grounded and meaningful life.
Clients do not have to walk through life’s challenges alone. Healing is possible, and Melissa would be honored to walk alongside them.
